Furries have a bad rep. Some of it is deserved, some of it isn't, and some of it is somewhere in the middle. No matter how you slice it, a project like this will always have an overwhelmingly negative response merely due to association with the furry community. The community at large may not be very good, but small communities will always be there. Hereby, I present to you:
DEStinct (or Destined Distinct) is, as the name implies, a distinct community of furries that don't want to be associated with the overwhelming majority. That's not to say that all of the overwhelming majority of furries are bad, but it's not a very good mark on you as a person to be associated with some of the more... interesting characters in the community. DEStinct has a focus on more niche subgenres of the furry community, like mechanical fursonas, electrical ones, stuffed animals, lizards, archaias, etc. A heaven for the "weird" ones, but not the weird ones.
Before we go around smearing garbage all over this new, shiny toy, let's go over some basic rules. I hope these aren't too "literally 1984" for most people:
DEStinct was formed out of a concept I had a few days ago while inable to sleep: a BBS centered around computerized furries. Specifically based on old UNIX versions, because that's currently what I'm into. I thought it'd be fun to set up a roleplay-type deal and just have fun with it. So that's exactly what I'm doing!
